Browser test Before downloading any files, check that your browser can display IPA properly. Can you see the IPA word ˈʤʌmpɪŋ (jumping) on your screen? This should work with Internet Explorer 5 and higher—and probably also with Netscape Navigator 4 and higher.
The installation procedure assigns the new IPA UTF-8 layout to the Faeroese keyboard (taskbar abbreviation: Fo[netik]). [Apologies to any Faeroese speakers reading this page.] You can then switch between English and IPA in the normal Windows manner (usually by pressing Alt-Shift).
